This is Kismet's fourth year and final year as a member of UT Dance Team, and she is continuing on as the Director for the 2012-2013 season. She is very proud, honored and blessed to continue to be a member of such a prestigious dance team. Kismet is a senior pursuing a career in Mathematics with the UTeach component, aspiring to become a high school mathematics teacher with a focus in Algebra and Geometry. Kismet has been dancing for eighteen years, training in ballet, lyrical, jazz and hip hop. Since the age of nine, she has danced competitively with the Pure Energy Dance Studio. Throughout the years, she has earned numerous awards for her talent both as an individual dancer and group member at the dance studio. In 2003, she was awarded the Tremaine Teen Scholarship, which allowed her to travel to Hollywood to attend classes at the Performing Arts Center. Her experience in dance has led her to many more adventures. For example, she was Head Drum Major and Captain of Varsity Cheerleaders of Angleton High School. Also, she was a dance instructor for several months at Attitude School of Dance in Lake Jackson, Texas. In addition to dance, she was involved in the HOSTS program mentoring kindergarten students in language, and within the UTeach program, she has student taught in 4th, 8th, and 11th grade Mathematics classes, and presently, will be teaching an Algebra 2 as well as prepare for her student teaching semester. She loves every minute of interaction with the kids, showing her passion for teaching. When she is not doing a million things at once, she likes to watch lots of television, such as That 70's Show, The Big Bang Theory, and Lie to Me, as well as sleep as much as possible.
