This is Sydney’s second year on the dance team, returning as Treasurer. Before moving to Austin she trained for sixteen years at the Bruce Lea Dance Factory in Fort Worth, Texas in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and a little hip hop and modern. She competed with Bruce Lea for six years, until her high school graduation, and still takes class when she goes home to visit. With the studio she attended many conventions and competitions, including trips to San Antonio, Texas and Panama City Beach, Florida. Sydney was also a member of the North Crowley Silver Stars Dance/Drill Team at her high school for four years - three of which as an officer. With the drill team she earned many team and camp titles, including Miss High Kick for three years and Miss Showtime for two years. She also performed at every football game, participated in community parades, danced four 1st Division Solos at contest, won many awards for team and officer routines, and performed in the team's annual Spring Show. Sydney is also a volunteer with SHARE: Students Helping Admissions’ Recruitment Efforts. She gives tours and helps at events for prospective students, hoping to help them decide if UT is right for them and that they have the same amazing experience she has had so far. Sydney is pursuing a degree in Accounting from the Red McCombs School of Business and hopes to be accepted into the Integrated Master in Professional Accounting Program in June of 2010. After graduating she plans to move to New York City to work with one of the Big Four accounting firms.
