Various dancers attend our clinic, including those who wish to try out for the team, as well as those who don't or are ineligible, like dancers still in high school for example. If you are thinking about trying out for the team, we encourage you to come get comfortable dancing our style, see how auditions are structured, and get to know some of the team members. Clinic follows the same format as auditions (stretching, toning, across the floor, and center combinations). Clinic is not a part of the audition process and no judging will take place. We also definitely encourage those of you who do not plan on auditioning to come and dance with us to get a great workout and learn some of our fabulous choreography! Whether you haven't danced in 5 years or are a member of another dance group on campus, Clinic is always a fun day of dancing and getting to know your fellow dancers here at UT. We hope to see all of you come out!

FAQ
When are team practices?
We practice 4 times a week during Fall and Spring Semesters: on Sundays 7-10 pm, and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:15-10pm in RSC 1.106. Additional practices may be required and scheduled as determined by Directors. Most additional practices are during the Spring Semester, as we prepare for our trip to Daytona, FL for Nationals, and Spring Show.

How much does it cost to be on the team?
Dues are $50/month. However, at the beginning of each year, team tee shirts, bags, fleeces, etc. will be ordered which usually totals around $150 per dancer.

What style of dance do you do?
We mainly perform hip-hop during the fall semester for rallies, and jazz in the spring for NDA Collegiate Nationals. We also perform other styles for various events around campus throughout the year, especially during our annual Spring Show.

Where do you dance?
Pep rallies, spirit events on campus, talent shows, UT events off campus, philanthropy events, Spring Show, and NDA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida and ADTS Nationals in Denton, TX.

Do you do anything besides dance?
We do some community service events and are looking to do more this semester. We have social events for team bonding, including a winter formal and spring boat party. And we do fundraisers around Austin and UT to help local business, earn money for Nationals, and meet with the people who support us throughout the year

Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions. We look forward to dancing with you!

Best, Susie Kim Director, UT Dance Team

Best of luck!
